This is the result of almost weekly meetings for 5 months. In Algeria, opposition parties, including the main Islamist parties, presented a platform of proposals at the "National Dialogue Forum" where they invited civil society. An important initiative that aims to bring together before going to negotiate with the authorities.

The goal is to create the conditions for holding a presidential election, as explained by Ali Benflis, former Prime Minister.

" My goal is to move quickly to the presidential election in a few months , " he says. An independent election commission is needed, to dismiss the current administration because it has been at the root of all past fraud and a new Electoral Code. "

For this forum, the parties have invited more than a hundred civil society organizations , political figures, but also other parties that have different roadmaps.

" The aim is to reach a consensus between the initiatives that are on the political scene and to put in place a single platform that represents the unanimity of political parties and associations, unions, etc. ", Said Lakhdar Benkhelaf, member of the El Adala party, one of the parties at the initiative of the forum.

However, on the side of the associations, participants deplore to have been put in the background, like this student who comes from the center of the country.

" Many young people did not like this morning's session. It was the language of wood. The young people did not get the feeling that there was a dialogue, but rather that we were in an election campaign , "he says.

From imams to students, throughout the afternoon, representatives of civil society have warned the parties: we will have to reckon with them.
