Mauritania can achieve the feat of qualifying for the round of 16 at its first participation in the CAN. The "Mourabitounes" face Tunisia for their last game of Group E this Tuesday, July 2 at 19h UT (21h in Paris). The "Carthage Eagles" do not have the right to flinch. After their two draws, Tunisians must hold their place if they do not want to run the risk of taking the door.

And if Mauritania followed the good example of Madagascar ? The Malagasy, novices in the African Cup of Nations like the Mauritanians, took the first place in group B and are therefore qualified for the knockout stages. Mauritania may be able to achieve the same performance. This July 2, the men of Corentin Martins play their all against Tunisia.

The last group E before this third and final day, the "Mourabitounes" can still qualify directly by hanging the second place, or by climbing on the third step and counting on a place among the best third in the first round. Their fate will also depend on the Angola-Mali match, but their first mission is simple: win to hope.

Tunisia has other concerns in mind. The "Eagles of Carthage" missed their first two outings (1-1 against Angola, 1-1 against Mali ). They are only second in group E, tied on points with Angola, who is third. They are therefore still under threat from Palancas Negras and therefore from Mauritania, which has nothing left to lose. Alain Giresse and his players are under pressure.
