The traditional image taken in the Japanese city of Osaka for the first ladies who attended the G20 summit together with their world-class husbands was oddly marked by the appearance of a man on her side.

The only man in the picture turned out to be Philip May, 61, the husband of British Prime Minister Teresa Mae, who looked stylish in a black jacket, white shirt and tie.

The photograph was taken at Tofuku-ji Temple in Kyoto, the Daily Mail newspaper reported.

French First Lady Brigitte Macaron and Argentinian Juliana Awada flocked on Friday, the first day of the G-20 summit in Japan.

The 44-year-old Juliana chose a floral dress with a brown sandal. Brigitte, 66, wore a blue dress, while Malgurzata, the 62-year-old wife of European Union President Donald Tusk, glowed in a light-colored dress.

Leaders of the Group of 20 leaders opened their summit Friday in Osaka, Japan, where it is expected to be one of the most divisive summits in years.

Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe opened the meeting, which will be dominated by controversial debates on trade, geopolitical tensions and climate change.
