Morocco's Foreign Ministry said on Monday that an official from the Ministry of Economy and Finance would represent the country at the economic workshop hosted by the Bahraini capital Manama on US President Donald Trump's Middle East peace plan this week.

"At the invitation of the governments of the Kingdom of Bahrain and the United States of America, a framework from the Ministry of Economy and Finance of the Kingdom of Morocco is participating in the" Workshop on Peace and Prosperity "hosted by the Bahraini capital Manama.

He said that participation in this technical and sectoral workshop is taking place in addition to several Arab, African and European countries and a number of regional and international organizations.

He added that this participation comes from the firm position of Morocco "for the solution of two states, living side by side in peace and stability, guaranteeing the establishment of an independent, sovereign and viable Palestinian state on June 4, 1967 with East Jerusalem as its capital."

On Sunday, thousands of Moroccans demonstrated in Rabat in a popular rally opposed to the US plan for peace in the Middle East, known as the "Century Deal" and the "Prosperous Workshop for Peace", to be held in Manama, Bahrain, on June 25-26.

The demonstrators called for the rejection of the "deal of shame" and boycotting the "treason workshop" in Manama, warning that they are meant to finish off Palestine, wipe out its history and landmarks, and establish burglary on the resources, capabilities and peoples of the region.
