The students of 1st S and ES came across a poem by Andrée Chedid. But most of the candidates did not know or did not see that this one had been written by a woman.

Students of 1st S and ES have bad since Monday, the day of the written test of French baccalaureate. They notably came across a rather complex poem of Andrée Chedid, Destination: tree. Catastrophe, most of the 340,000 candidates did not know or did not see that it had been written by a woman, the mother of Louis Chedid and Mathieu Chedid's grandmother.

On social networks, the avalanche of tweets written since Monday by candidates disappointed express misunderstanding. Pablo, a high school student, almost did not notice: "On the beginning I wrote 'he' and rereading the text a second time I saw his name," he confided to Europe 1. "So, I changed all the" he "in" her "and I made a lot of erasures and put a little white everywhere, but most of my friends wrote in the masculine ...".

"Students are not used to seeing others in the baccalaureate program"

Do not worry. According to Françoise Cahen, a professor of letters, the fact that 1st grade students have never heard of Andrée Chedid is not serious. The most embarrassing for the teacher is the fact that many students have not even imagined, thanks to the 'e' at the end of the first name, that the poetry could be signed by a woman.

"This fault is indicative of the fact that students are not used to seeing others in the baccalaureate program, a confusion that is a symptom of women's excessive discretion in teacher practices," says Françoise Cahen.

Great clemency asked the correctors

Some students have already run the rumor that the mistake would cost two points less on the copy. But the professor wants to reassure, a great leniency was asked the correctors.
