The Louvre Museum did not open its doors Monday morning due to a right of withdrawal exercised by the receptionists who denounce problems of staffing, said the museum management and a union source.
More visitors and fewer staff
In a statement, the union Sud Culture Solidaires says that "The Louvre suffocates" and that "the staffs note an unprecedented deterioration of the conditions of visit and work". "In 2018, attendance at the Louvre exceeded 10.2 million visitors, while the public has increased by more than 20% since 2009, the palace, it has not grown and the numbers have not stopped decreasing, "says the union.
