Five media, including RFI, have been awarded by the IRE, the Investigative Reporters and Editors for its investigation of the Congo Files on the assassination of UN experts in the DRC in March 2017. The "Congo Files" document the tracks and options raised by UN investigators on this crime as well as the multiple obstacles they encountered between March 2017 and September 2018.

RFI, The World , Foreign Policy, Süddeutsche Zeitung and Swedish television have been awarded by the IRE, the Investigative Reporters and Editors. An NGO established in the United States in 1975 that works to develop investigative journalism and which every year is an outstanding investigation.

This survey is the one entitled "Congo Files" . An investigation into the March 2017 assassination of Michael Sharp and Zaida Catalan, two UN experts charged with investigating violence in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The six media have documented the avenues, the options raised and the multiple obstacles faced by UN police officers to investigate on the spot, between March 2017 and September 2018. " This award shows the strength of collaborative investigations ," said Sonia Rolley of RFI who worked on these thousands of documents.

The five-media award will be presented in Houston on June 15. In particular, it rewards Swedish TV documentaries from this joint survey.
