The Houthis announced today that they carried out a third attack in less than 48 hours by plane march against Najran airport in Saudi Arabia, targeting the Patriot missile defense system and air base in the region.

The "Al-Masirah" channel of the group said that "the air force of the march carried out an attack by a K2 bomber aircraft on Najran airport."

The channel quoted an unnamed military source as saying that "the attack targeted the Patriot system at Najran airport."

The source confirmed "the success of the offensive, which was carried out after careful intelligence monitoring," at a time there was no immediate comment from the Saudi-UAE alliance on what the group announced.

On the other hand, the Saudi-UAE alliance said it had intercepted a plane launched by the Houthis towards the airport.

The Al-Houthi group announced yesterday morning that it targeted the airfields of the warplanes at the airport twice by plane march, without details of the results, after the group denied the launch of a ballistic missile towards Mecca.

The Al-Masirah channel of the group said that a plane was "targeted at the airfields at Najran airport," without giving details of any damage, casualties or injuries.

Saudi Arabia has announced the continuation of work at the airport normally, and Riyadh had announced earlier support for the Najran area with new security regiments, as the region is one of the most prominent targets of rockets fired by the Houthis.

On Tuesday, the Al-Masirah channel reported that the Houthis also targeted an arms depot at the airport, resulting in a fire. The Saudi-UAE coalition said the Houthis had tried to target a civilian facility in the city of Najran with a plane carrying explosives.

The coalition also confirmed that the Saudi air defenses dealt with "air targets" in the skies of the Kingdom in the area where the Mecca, but the Houthis strongly denied the launch of any ballistic missile towards that region.

Last week, the Huthis attacked seven aircraft on a major oil pipeline in Saudi Arabia, stopping oil pumping for hours.
