"Tight control is required"

In January of this year, Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev called for changes in the planning and management of the rocket and space industry. According to the head of government, it is necessary to build a tighter control over the quality and spending of funds. So, Medvedev said that of all the funds allocated by the budget, Roscosmos did not use 16%.

“To remedy the situation, you need to create effective mechanisms for managing and financing within the rocket and construction industry. Tight control over the implementation of decisions made, the observance of the quality of work and the use of budgetary funds is required, ”the Prime Minister noted.

Medvedev stressed that Russia could make the rocket and space industry commercially successful.

“Do not forget that space is a big market in which there is real competition. And here you need to work seriously to stay in this market. The rocket and space industry in today's environment can and should become commercially successful. We are still far enough from this, ”he added.

“We need to finish with a projector. Stop talking about where we will fly in 2039! We have to work: talk less and do more, actively engage in the commercialization of our space industry and increase Russia's share in the international market, ”Medvedev stressed.
