A comedian candidate with no political career in Ukraine has won more than 70 percent of the vote in the presidential election.

Ukrainian Central Election Commission announced that 41-year-old candidate Volodymyr Zelenensky won 73.21% of the votes in the election, which was 99.68%.

The 53-year-old President Petro-Poroschenko, who opposed it, had only 24.46%.

The turnout was 62.07%.

On the day when the county was actually completed, the vote rate almost coincided with the results of the exit survey released after the previous day's voting deadline.

After the release of the exit survey, Zelenensky made a "victory speech" in fact and President Poroshenko admitted defeat.

According to the Ukrainian election laws, the central election official must announce the winner by the end of this month. The elected president assumes office by the end of May.
