“Indeed, there are advocates that HIV infection does not exist. This is the worst that can be. In the early stages, the infection is well treated, and people actually live a normal life for many years. But if the disease is not treated, it leads to very serious consequences, ”explained Lapa.

According to her, citizens need to be more informed about HIV.

“We need to give people more knowledge about the disease. It is necessary to explain that everything is treated in the early stages. Prevention and diagnosis are also needed. It must be reminded that this disease is treated and people are recovering, ”the doctor concluded.

Earlier, the Ministry of Health of Russia prepared a draft law banning the dissemination of information calling for refusals of HIV testing and treatment.

It was clarified that inaccurate information includes, in particular, the denial of the existence of HIV infection and acquired immunodeficiency syndrome.
