TIME ONLINE | News, backgrounds and debates

Colombo (AP) - The Ministry of Health in Sri Lanka has downsized the number of deaths in the Easter Sunday attacks by more than 100. The attacks killed 253 people, not the one reported last 359. The Director-General of Health Services said the exact number was unclear because the bodies had been severely maimed. He also corrected the number of casualties from 485 to 149 down.
