Terrorism: attacks on churches and luxury hotels in Sri Lanka

Colombo (dpa) - In a devastating series of attacks on Christian churches and hotels have killed at least 191 people in Sri Lanka - including twelve foreigners. This was reported by the speakers of seven local hospitals. In addition, more than 500 people were injured in the coordinated explosions. There were at least eight detonations. Deputy Defense Minister Ruwan Wijewardene spoke of a "terrorist attack" and blamed extremists for the bloody deeds. He imposed a nationwide curfew until early Monday morning.
