A fire broke out in a machine room at a hotel in Hokkaido, Japan, and 13 Korean tourists in the room were taken to the hospital, Kyodo News Agency reported.

According to reports, a fire broke out at 2:15 am on the first floor of the Noboribetsu Sekisui-Tei, a hotel in Novoribetsu, Hokkaido.

Thirteen Korean tourists who were in the room in the fire were drunk and moved to the hospital.

Kyodo reported that all 13 people were ordinary citizens.

Park Hyun-kyu, a Sapporo consul general, said, "As a result of dispatching employees and finding out the situation on the scene, 13 Korean tourists have returned to the hotel from the hospital after receiving necessary measures."

Park said, "Some of them were scheduled to return early due to their schedule," explaining that there were about 50 Korean tourists staying at the hotel.

The fire that occurred on the day evolved in an hour after burning part of the facility.
