In Sudan, a massive and compact crowd gathered this Sunday in front of the army headquarters in Khartoum. The protesters started their sit-in on April 6th. They are now waiting for a press conference from the Sudanese Professionals' Association which promised to form a civilian council ... but opposite, the head of the transitional military council Abdel Fattah Burhan appeared on national television to announce that the Council military is committed "to transfer power to the people".

This is the first time he has given an interview since the dismissal of Omar El Bashir on April 11, the first since he replaced - the next day - General Ibn Auf at the head of the military council.

Abdel Fattah Abdelrahman Burhan wanted reassurance with regard to the challenge. He has indeed promised to transfer power to the people. This is the main demand of the protesters, they do not want a military junta, but Abdel Fattah Abdelrahman Burhan assures him, this week he will respond to their request.

The APS was to announce a civilian council in charge of the country's affairs

We know at the same time that discussions resumed yesterday with the leaders of the mobilization. Among them, the Association of Sudanese professionals on the front line. It is she who announced a press conference for this Sunday evening to reveal the names that will make up a civil council. Yesterday a member of the Association of professionals said that the appointment could be postponed with regard to negotiations. But today this same member confirmed the continuation of the press conference.

EUR 93 million seized in the residence of deposed President el-Bashir

And meanwhile, the military council has in any case announced a seizure of money at the home of Omar al-Bashir. An important seizure. By mid-day, a video circulated on social networks, supposedly shot in the residence of the former head of state. There are really piles and piles of banknotes. And this afternoon, it was the head of the military council who announced it as well. Police, army and security agents have found seven million euros, 350,000 dollars and five billion Sudanese pounds ... In all, it is 93 million euros.
