Bogotá (AP) - At least 17 people died in a landslide in Colombia - including three children. Eight apartments were buried in the place Portachuelo after heavy rains of loam masses. This was reported by the newspaper "El Tiempo", citing local authorities. In addition, at least ten other people have been spilled from the scree and would still be missing. The Panamerican Highway connecting Ecuador's capital Quito with Cali in Colombia has been closed. In support of the salvage work, the army was used.
