“The Il-76 plane delivered more than 30 tons of cargo to the city of Beira,” RIA Novosti reports the ministry’s press service.

The humanitarian aid included tents, blankets and food.

It is noted that during the week similar goods will be sent to Zimbabwe and Malawi, which also suffered from the elements.

In March, the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies reported that Beira’s second largest city in Mozambique and its suburbs were 90% destroyed as a result of the cyclone Idai. In early April, it was reported that the number of victims of the cyclone "Go" in Mozambique reached almost 600.

Inforeactor reported that Mozambique turned to Russia with a request for humanitarian assistance for victims of the cyclone.
