Dortmund (dpa) - At the age of 30 years Olympic rowing champion Maximilian Reinelt died on Sunday while skiing in the Swiss St. Moritz. This was announced by the Deutschlandachter on Monday. The cause of death is not yet known. Born in Ulm, he was Olympic champion in London in 2012, and took silver in 2016 in Rio de Janeiro. He has been world champion twice and European champion five times. "He was first and foremost a friend, someone we could rely on not just in training and competition, but throughout our lives," wrote the Germany sator in the message.
