New York (dpa) - Following the guilty verdict against Mexican drug lord Joaquín "El Chapo" Guzmán, the US government is celebrating its condemnation on all ten charges as a huge success. Guzmán's "criminal enterprise flooded the streets of the United States with hundreds of tons of cocaine and massive amounts of other dangerous drugs, such as heroin and methamphetamine," said US Attorney General Matthew Whitaker after the ruling. The jury had found the former head of the Sinaloa cartel guilty for nearly three months after the trial.
