Armed police officers were deployed in central Christchurch on Friday (March 15th) as local press reported several deaths in a mosque shooting in that locality on South Island New Zealand.

According to New Zealand media, a gunman opened fire on Friday in a crowded mosque in the city of Christchurch. No official record for the time, but the local media evoke several dead and wounded.

The center of this city of the South Island of New Zealand has been completed. " A serious and moving situation is underway in Christchurch, with an active shooter ," the police said on Twitter, adding that schools in the city would be closed. She also calls people to stay at home.

On Twitter, one player said the " entire " Bangladesh cricket team had escaped the shootout. The players were about to enter the mosque when the incident erupted.
