Military attaches of a number of Western countries did not attend the Defense Ministry briefing on the 9M729 missile

"The military attaches of the United States, Britain, France and Germany, as well as representatives of NATO and the European Union, to whom an invitation was sent, abstained from attending the briefing," the ministry said.

According to the ministry, more than 20 representatives of the diplomatic corps of foreign countries attended the briefing.

Earlier, at a briefing on Wednesday, January 23, the Russian Defense Ministry first showed foreign military attaches a modernized 9M729 missile. This missile is considered by the United States to violate the Treaty on Intermediate-Range and Shorter-Range Missiles (INF).

The Russian defense ministry indicates that the maximum range of the 9M729 missile is 480 km, which corresponds to the conditions of the INF.
