“In the past six months, as part of the election campaign in Ukraine, we really saw the so-called Zelensky phenomenon, which now resulted in his absolute victory in the second round. Never before in the history of Ukraine did a presidential candidate show such a result. Petro Poroshenko lost even in the west of the country, where he had the highest electorate. Ukrainians did not even vote for Zelensky’s person, but against everything that happened during the last five years of Poroshenko’s presidency. It was with the hope of change that they supported another candidate, ”the deputy said.

Ganzhara also noted that the new president of Ukraine, like the past, does not have the most important thing - “an image of the future for the country”.

“Zelensky came to the beautiful rhetoric of renewal and the search for social justice. But in itself it is not an accident a product, albeit a political project. Today, Ukraine is experiencing a period of high risks, turbulence and internal contradictions, ”he said.

Earlier in the CEC of Ukraine reported that more than 11 million voters did not vote during the second round of the presidential elections on April 21.

It is noted that out of 29.6 million people registered on the electoral lists, 18.4 million voted. Including in Kiev - 1.42 million people out of 2.16 million.

The turnout of voters at 20:00 on April 21 was 62.07%.
