The firefighters died because of the explosion when they were extinguishing a fire in a bakery. A third firefighter was injured. In addition, dozens of people were injured by the explosion.

The explosion in the bakery happened around 9 am. Images from shortly afterwards show a huge havoc. There was shouting in the street and the front of the building was completely blown away. In addition, many windows have also been killed in buildings near the bakery.

Castaner says to live with the victims. "My first thoughts are with the injured and their loved ones," he reported on Twitter.

According to him, two hundred firefighters were deployed to offer help after the explosion.
