A week after the fire that ravaged the entire roof of Notre-Dame Monday, April 15, security work and consolidation around the cathedral begin to take place.

On April 23, two small drones fly over the cathedral and two cranes have already been installed on either side of what remains of the nave. At the foot of the cathedral, dozens of helmeted workers come and go and work on the walkway.

Because the urgency for now is the installation of a tarp over the nave and the choir. This is to protect the building from the impending rain. A rain that could weaken even more the structure.

The other important aspect of this work is the dismantling of the scaffolding surrounding the spire, collapsed during the fire . The workers will have to build a scaffolding around this scaffolding, a task that could last several weeks.

Wooden structures have also been installed to support some facades.

A large area around the site is still inaccessible. However, this does not prevent onlookers and tourists from taking photos, gathering dozens on the bridge of the Archbishop's Palace, at the foot of Notre-Dame.
