Showman Vladimir Zelensky is significantly ahead of the current Ukrainian leader Petro Poroshenko in ratings. This is evidenced by the data of a public opinion poll of residents of Ukraine, conducted by the Kiev International Institute of Sociology (KIIS) on the eve of the second round of elections.

According to the data presented, 72.2% of the respondents are ready to cast their votes for the artistic director of the Kvartal 95 studio. At the same time, he is almost three times ahead of Poroshenko, gaining 25.4%. In addition, 2.4% reported their intention to spoil the ballot on the ballot, which will take place on Sunday, April 21.

At the same time, 57.2% of respondents believe that Zelensky will win in the second round. Another 28.7% were undecided or refused to answer this question, and only 14.1% believe in Poroshenko’s victory.

Sociologists also asked the respondents what actions they expected from the president in the first 100 days of his term. The most desirable step for Ukrainians is the reduction of utility tariffs (39.1%). This is followed by bills on lifting immunity from deputies, judges, the president (35.5%), as well as initiating or accelerating investigations of the most resonant corruption crimes (32.4%).

In fourth place, by request, was the entry into the negotiation process with Russia (23.3%).

We emphasize that, according to a previous poll published by the Sociological Group Rating on April 11, Zelensky's advantage was 37% - 61% of respondents were ready to vote for him, Poroshenko - 24%.

In addition, former Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili also expressed confidence in the victory of Zelensky. In his opinion, Poroshenko can stay in power only with the help of the “most radical measures”. The ex-governor of the Odessa region stressed that the new president of Ukraine had to solve many problems: war, corruption, poverty.

“But the most important thing is the bitter resistance of the old system. All of her will unite against you ... But Petro Poroshenko and his clan will remain your main opponent. Therefore, the first task is the real fight against corruption in the face of the Poroshenko system, ”Saakashvili stressed.

Along with this, on Tuesday, April 16, it became known about the conclusion of a trilateral agreement between representatives of the election headquarters of Petro Poroshenko and Vladimir Zelensky, as well as the NSC Olimpiyskiy on holding a debate at the republican stadium on the evening of April 19.

“Our representatives are going to discuss the rules of this debate. So far, we have different visions, ”said Oleg Medvedev, a spokesman for the current head of state’s headquarters.

Meanwhile, the press services of the party "The Servant of the People" and the national sports complex in Kiev have not yet confirmed this information.

At the same time last Saturday, Petro Poroshenko has already visited the "Olympic". He danced on the stage, and also criticized his opponent for “refusing” to come to the debate, after which he held a press conference and sang the song “T ome pdmanula” (“You lied to me”). At the same time, the headquarters of the showman initially stated that Zelensky was not going to attend this event, and the debate should take place on April 19, in accordance with the agreements between the candidates and the electoral legislation.

In addition, the Ukrainian publication “theBabel” published its own investigation, finding out that the Postmen agency, which maintains the pages of Petro Poroshenko on social networks, is also responsible for distributing on the Internet clips about the “drug addict Zelensky” who discredited the favorite of the presidential race. At the same time, the promotion of the video cost customers about 2 million hryvnas (about $ 75 thousand).

In addition, the management of the media holding “1 + 1 Media” filed a lawsuit against Poroshenko with a claim for protection of business reputation, denial of inaccurate information and compensation for moral harm. We are talking about the messages of the current president of Ukraine, posted on Facebook, which, according to the plaintiff, create a “false impression that the informational activity of the 1 + 1 channel is negative, biased and biased”.

We emphasize that "1 + 1 Media" belongs to the Ukrainian oligarch Igor Kolomoisky.

"Everyone is tired of Poroshenko"

According to Yury Pochta, a professor at the Department of Comparative Political Science at the RUDN University, Vladimir Zelensky is the main contender for the presidency of Ukraine. The post also noted that Ukrainians are tired not only of the current government, but also of Yulia Tymoshenko, who became only the third in the voting.

“The simplest explanation: everyone is tired of Poroshenko. Already someone, but not Poroshenko. Zelensky is a new man, a man, undoubtedly, stupid, yes, without experience in political activities ... But what to do if Poroshenko did not have a worthy opponent with experience in political activity, with a reputation? ”Said the expert in an interview with RT.

State Duma deputy from the Republic of Crimea Ruslan Balbek also believes that the decisive factor in Zelensky’s leadership in public opinion polls is his novelty and the lack of any connection with corruption scandals or odious Ukrainian politicians.

“He clearly has greater sympathy for the population than the policies of the old formation. And although Zelensky clearly stated that he was not going to negotiate with Russia, this could only be pre-election PR to pull the radical-minded part of the Ukrainian population onto his side, ”said Balbek.

At the same time, he added that a significant part of Ukrainians are waiting for the new president to improve relations with Moscow.

“We still have to negotiate with Russia, otherwise the new Ukrainian president will continue to рез pull the tires’ with the decision of the Donbas issue and dream of a “de-occupation” of the Crimea. The Crimean question is closed, but the Donbass knot can be cut. It depends on the political will of Ukraine and non-interference of the West, ”the source stressed.
