French international referee Clement Turpin has been the victim of a drug trafficking ring in Europe after his identity card was stolen and his character was implicated in criminal activity.

Torben was in Juventus's match with Ajax Amsterdam in Turin in the quarter-final of the Champions League last week.

The gang used this method to facilitate the transfer of drugs between Belgium and France, where they used a personal judgment card and data to remove suspicions about the international smuggling activity.

The French newspaper L'Equipe published a report detailing the crime, citing an investigation into the case by the regional department of the judicial police in Versailles.

The newspaper said that the name of the French government appeared for the first time in the activity of the gang in 2017, was arrested who used the identity of a turbine in December last.

Turbine issued an official statement confirming his innocence of any relationship with this gang or any connection to this issue.
