British Queen Elizabeth II turned 93 on Easter Sunday. Together with family members, the monarch visited a mass in the St. George's Chapel on the grounds of Windsor Castle. However, the very pregnant Meghan Markle and the 97-year-old Prince Philip were missing.

Among other things, the Queen was accompanied by Prince William and Duchess Kate and Prince Harry. Duchess Meghan expects her first child at the end of April / beginning of May. Officially, no date has been announced for the eighth great-grandchild of the queen.

Thirty-seven-year-old Meghan and Harry congratulated on Instagram. "Happy Birthday, Your Majesty, Madam and Grandmother, we wish you the most wonderful day! Harry & Meghan."

The two are now neighbors of the Queen. The pair recently moved from London to Windsor. Before that, they almost lived next door to William and Kate.

Traditionally salute shots are given in London for the day of honor - but never on a Sunday. The cannon thunder will therefore be heard this time with a day delay on Monday. The traditional birthday parade "Trooping the Color" always takes place in June.

Elizabeth II has been queen for more than 67 years. With that she holds a record: she is the longest serving living monarch in the world. Although the Queen has reduced her work program in recent years, she is still committed to making official appointments. She has been married to Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh, for over 71 years.

The monarch probably does not think about stopping - she is considered extremely dutiful. Until Prince Charles inherits his mother as heir to the throne, years could pass. The "eternal heir to the throne," as he is often called, is already 70 years old.
