British actor Bradley Welsh has been shot. Several media report, including the Guardian and the BBC. According to the 42-year-old was found in Edinburgh seriously injured by police. He died at the scene.

Welsh was a hooligan, British lightweight boxing champion and had a supporting role in the movie "Trainspotting 2". In it he played the gangster Mr Doyle. According to the Guardian, he was involved in boxing projects aimed at keeping juveniles in Edinburgh from criminals.

The police are investigating the murder, according to the BBC. Welsh had been found in a staircase. He died near his home, writes the Guardian.
