at the 38th edition of the Spanish Film Awards, which will be held this Saturday in

Valladolid

, the Film Academy has announced.

A recognition given to her for "her impressive career full of unforgettable films and inspiring us by creating complex and strong female characters."

Known mainly for her role as Lieutenant Ripley in the science fiction saga

'Alien'

, Weaver (New York, 1949) is a versatile actress, with charisma and "indisputable talent", as the academy stated in a statement.

"Over the years she has captivated audiences and earned their admiration as one of the most beloved performers on stage and screen worldwide," the note adds.

Nominated for an Oscar for her work in

'Alien: The Return'

(1986), Weaver was nominated in two categories in 1988, as the protagonist of

'Gorillas in the Mist'

and as a supporting actress in

'Woman's Weapons'

.

She has also worked on titles such as
