In the separation dispute between the British actress Sophie Turner, 27, and US singer Joe Jonas, 34, there is apparently a preliminary agreement on the whereabouts of their children. US media reported on Monday, citing court documents, that the two girls are to remain in New York for the time being. Turner and Jonas had jointly agreed to this injunction, reported "People" and the "New York Post".
At the beginning of September, the couple had described their divorce plans as a "joint decision". Last week, the actress then asked the singer in court to return the two children. The daughters, born in 2020 and 2022, were unlawfully detained in New York, the court document said. "The father is in possession of the children's passports," it says. "He refuses to return the mother's passports, and he refuses to send the children home to England with the mother."
A spokesman for the father then said that Jonas had initiated the divorce proceedings in the US state of Florida and that the court there had already ruled that the parents were not allowed to move with their children. The children were born in the United States and lived there for the most part, according to the message, which was available to the dpa news agency.
Jonas and Turner got engaged in 2017 and then tied the knot twice in 2019 – in Las Vegas in May and in France in July.
With his brothers Kevin and Nick, Joe had founded the band Jonas Brothers in 2005, which is swarmed by teenagers. The group broke up in 2013, but made a comeback six years later with the album »Happiness Begins«. The brothers pursued solo careers and appeared in front of the film cameras. Currently, the trio is back on tour in the USA.
Turner is from Northampton, England. She became world famous with her role as Sansa Stark in the series »Game of Thrones«. She also played Jean Grey in the films »X-Men: Apocalypse« (2016) and »Dark Phoenix« (2019).
