In the case of a customer and an employee who were slashed with a kitchen knife and slightly injured at a commercial facility in Nagaoka City, Niigata Prefecture on May 25, an 3-year-old high school student who was arrested testified that he wanted to kill people, according to interviews with investigators.
The police are investigating the details of the fact that he bought a kitchen knife in the facility just before.
Just before noon on the 25th, two female customers were slashed in the neck with kitchen knives at the riverside Chiaki commercial facility in Nagaoka City, and a male employee was also injured in the flank.
All three were slightly injured, and the police arrested an 2-year-old high school student living in Nagaoka City on suspicion of attempted murder against an employee, and sent him to the Public Prosecutor's Office on May 3.
According to the police, he admitted to the charge, saying, "There is no excuse," and in an interview with an investigative official, it was found that he also stated that he "wanted to kill people."
It was also found that a pointed household kitchen knife with a blade length of about 18 centimeters that became the murder weapon had been purchased at a store in the facility just before the incident.
The suspect and the three injured people were not acquainted, and all three explained that they were "attacked suddenly," so the police are investigating the details of the incident.
