The festival will last until December this year, with four major sections of colorful content, allowing the audience to experience the city life and cultural tourism experience full of drama in Tianjin, a "theater town". The festival was hosted by the Publicity Department of the Tianjin Municipal Party Committee, the Tianjin Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism, the Tianjin Municipal Committee of the Communist Youth League and Tianjin Haihe Media Center, and organized by Tianjin North Performing Arts Group and Tianjin Poly Theater Management Co., Ltd., and supported by Bank of Tianjin.

At the opening ceremony, the audience walked into "The Tianjin Love of Chinese Drama" with a magnificent short film. In the history of Chinese theater, Tianjin has an irreplaceable position. At the beginning of the 20th century, this was the "Grand Wharf of Xiqu" for the exchange of opera between the north and the south, the "Four Famous Dans" and "Four Great Xusheng" of Peking Opera appeared on the stage in Tianjin, and many genres such as Pingopera and Hebei Bangzi were formed in Tianjin.
More than 100 years ago, Chinese drama sprouted in Tianjin campus, and the "cradle of Chinese drama" gave birth to generations of drama masters. In Tianjin, an eclectic theatrical hotspot, excellent theatrical works, whether born or cross-ocean, can always find resonance.
After the short film, Tianjin-born performance artist Liu Peiqi joined hands with Wu Jingan, winner of the Chinese Drama Plum Blossom Award who has collaborated with Tianjin Renyi for many times. They recalled their experiences in Tianjin, talked about their cooperation with Tianjin dramatists, and also mentioned a name that has an indissoluble bond with Tianjin - Cao Yu. At this time, "Cao Yu" also stepped onto the stage, full of drama to review classic fragments such as "Thunderstorm", "Sunrise" and "Field", and told the story of Cao Yu growing up in Tianjin, creating in Tianjin, and his works originated in Tianjin.

The opening drama staged afterwards and "The Field" rehearsed by Tianjin Renyi more intuitively showed the height and intensity of Cao Yu's play. This version of "The Wilderness" has a creative stage presentation on the basis of faithful to the spirit of the original work, the image of the "ancient terracotta figurines" symbolizing the life pattern on the field land runs through the play, and the "Requiem" played by the cello builds a poetic stage full of symbols in the vastness and mystery, ethereal and solemn.
