Pompeii and Herculaneum, before being buried by volcanoes, were cities nourished by ancient Greco-Roman civilization, with rapid economic development, rich people's lives, and artistic creation reaching a very high level. In 79 AD, the violent eruption of Mount Vesuvius completely buried Pompeii in an instant, as were other towns such as Herculaneum and Oplondis near Pompeii. The ancient city, sealed by volcanic ash, has become an excellent clue for modern people to understand ancient Greco-Roman civilization. The National Archaeological Museum of Naples, Italy, is one of the oldest and most influential archaeological museums in the world today, with the most important excavations from sites in the Pompeii region in the world.

The 127 pieces / sets of precious cultural relics on display include sculptures, murals, ceramics, bronze, glass products and other types, and the key exhibits include the dotted sculpture "Aphrodite in the Sea", which portrays the splendid appearance of the goddess of love and beauty in Greek mythology when she was born from the sea. The goddess was dressed in a short ancient Greek robe with clothes clinging to her body, indicating that she had just surfaced. A thicker robe covered her lower body. Her skin, serene face, and graceful bathing in water have influenced Western art, both ancient and modern.

Ganomedes and the Eagle is a marble sculpture of the young Trojan prince Gahnimedes, who Homer described as the most handsome mortal of his time. In this exhibit, the young Gahnimodes wears a Greek Phrygian hat, holding a shepherd's cane in his lowered right arm and an eagle in his left arm. The dog next to him squatted and looked up at Gahnimodes.
