If in the US NASA has hired a panel of reputable independent scientists to analyze what were previously called UFOs, and now they have become UAPs (Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena), in Mexico they have carried out this week the first public hearing for the possible legislation of anomalous aerial phenomena not identified in that country.

But even in a session focused on extraterrestrials, it has been surprising what has happened in the Chamber of Deputies of Mexico, where the ufologist and journalist Jaime Maussan has made an unusual presentation with which he has managed, of course, to draw attention to the issue of aliens: he has shown two inert creatures which, according to this alien seeker, would belong to beings from another world. Next to the creatures, a sign read: "non-human bodies ('non-human', underlined), with only three fingers and elongated heads."

"They are two beings that were recovered in Peru in a diatom mine, dried bodies found between the cities of Palpa and Benasque in 2017 that have been deeply investigated by researchers, journalists and scientists," Maussan said, noting that the finding occurred near the famous Nazca Lines and stating that "they are not part of our terrestrial evolution." Citing an alleged investigation conducted by the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), the presenter of the program Tercer Milenio has claimed that the two alleged bodies would be more than a thousand years old.

It is not surprising that the video of the appearance, broadcast on Mexican TV, is quickly becoming viral, although in the opinion of the prestigious Spanish paleoanthropologist Miguel Botella, the best thing we could do is not pay attention to Jaime Maussan because he considers that we are facing "a farce" and "a crude montage" that does not deserve credibility. "Just seeing them, I think they are neither human nor extraterrestrial, I think they are dolls, not desiccated bodies," explains by telephone the director of the Anthropology Laboratory of the University of Granada, who also highlights how "stereotyped" the creatures he has shown are.

Telescopes in search of aliens: "We can't think we're the only ones"

"Maussan is famous in the world, he lives by looking for aliens, making programs and writing in magazines," says Botella, who met the Mexican ufologist in person when he asked him to examine another supposedly extraterrestrial creature he called "the being."

The creature that Botella and another fellow geneticist analyzed at Maussan's urging, in the study that the journalist has in Mexico City, turned out to be a small primate (earthling). "And I put my hand in the fire that what is happening today is a lie," says this expert, who for 50 years has helped security forces to clarify murders and identify disappeared persons, and who was appointed by the Government of Chile as the sole expert to verify the identifications of disappeared during the Pinochet dictatorship. Maussan's request was not something isolated, as this Spanish coroner has been required on other occasions to examine alleged extraterrestrial bodies that turned out not to be.

In his appearance, Maussan, who is 70 years old and has been investigating paranormal phenomena and UFOs for decades, emphasized that the allegedly extraterrestrial beings were not recovered in ships that fell on Earth, but were buried. The analysis of the scientists of the National Autonomous University of Mexico would have determined, through carbon 14 analysis, that they remained buried in mines of diatom, which is a fossilized algae with 17 million years old; It is phytoplankton that abounded at that time and has extraordinary characteristics, desiccates bodies and does not allow the growth of fungi. These are not mummies but whole bodies that have not been manipulated inside," he said.

Given this statement, Botella, who is part of the Qubbet el Hawa mission in Egypt and documented in an Egyptian mummy the first known case of breast cancer, recalls that many bodies are preserved without the need to undergo a mummification process: "Of course there are natural mummies, corpses dehydrated by intense cold or heat. For example, the mummies of Quintus (in Zaragoza), those of Guanajuato (Mexico), Prince Sancho of Castile who is in Toledo or almost all the dead in the cemetery of Granada. From the second niche upwards almost all the bodies are mummified because in Granada it is either very cold or very hot, and they become dehydrated," he says. "A mummy, whether natural or artificial, is nothing more than a dehydrated body. And running out of moisture, bacteria can't corrupt it. The ancient Egyptians removed the viscera from the corpses and put them 70 days in natron, which is sodium bicarbonate and salt, and thus dehydrated, "he reviews, stressing that from his point of view, what this ufologist has shown "is not dehydrated".

For Maussan, however, the two subjects he has taught are "sufficient evidence to prove that extraterrestrial life exists" and that "we are being visited by non-human intelligences," as Efe collects. Therefore, he called for more research and more transparency on this issue. The ufologist added that Mexico has already taken a step forward when it first leaked the video of a Mexican Air Force aircraft, where 11 unidentified anomalous objects were observed through an infrared camera.
