The organization of Primavera Sound has published a statement to inform that the next edition of the festival will not be held in Madrid, after this year's experience in Arganda del Rey. Although they have been looking for other places in the capital, for the time being they have not found any that seem appropriate to them.

There are eleven months left for what would be the 2024 edition and one would think that it is enough time to look for another location. The organizers point out that the headliners are hired more than a year in advance, so it is not viable if the venue is not clear. There are some alternatives, such as IFEMA or the recently released Iberdrola Music, but they recognize that their project is ambitious and they do not want to give up "the Primavera Sound experience".

The Primavera Sound ended on June 11 its landing in Madrid with concerts by Rosalía, Depeche Mode, Bad Gyal, Kendrick Lamar and Blur, among many other artists on the bill. After years exploiting this brand of live music only in Barcelona, it was decided to bet on a double appointment in the two main Spanish cities.

However, during the three days of the festival, the organization learned several lessons: that rain appears when it is least expected (forcing the cancellation of the first day) or that mobility and the streamlining of access at peak times is probably the great pending issue of this type of macro events.

As reported at the Primavera Sound press conference, around 42,000 people enjoyed the concerts on Friday 10 and 48,000 on Saturday 11, close to the limit of 50,000 daily attendees set by the organization, precisely because of the ability to access the venue.

Although the organization had been satisfied with the attendance figures, they had recognized that, although the interior space was perfectly adapted to the idiosyncrasy of this festival with 12 stages, there were "other circumstances to take into account" and "assess" for future editions the suitability of the City of Rock as a definitive venue.
