A seven-year-old boy drowned in a swimming accident in Saarland. The child had disappeared on Sunday afternoon during an excursion with his family in the Losheim reservoir, as the Saarland state police headquarters announced. After an extensive search, rescue workers found the boy a few hours later in the water in the area of the lido. He could not be resuscitated despite resuscitation measures, it was said.
According to the current state of affairs, the investigators assume a bathing accident, as a spokeswoman said on request. Further details were not initially known.
Ten-year-old rescues boys from swimming pool in Wetter
There were more accidents over the weekend. A ten-year-old has pulled a seriously injured boy out of the water of an outdoor swimming pool in Wetter an der Ruhr – and possibly saved his life. The child was injured while playing, reported the natural pool on the lake. "Taken out of the non-swimmer pool by an attentive visitor of the same age, he was immediately given first aid by the employees of the natural outdoor pool and emergency services of the DLRG." A spokesman for the fire brigade in the Ennepe-Ruhr district said on Saturday that the boy had hit the edge of the pool during a dive into the pool, according to initial knowledge.
The child had been taken to a clinic by rescue helicopter after the incident on Friday afternoon. More details about the boy's condition were not initially known.
Fatal accident during stand-up paddling
