The "Beverly Hills" star shared a video of herself undergoing radiation therapy, lying down before undergoing her treatment, her face masked and her eyes misted with tears. The 52-year-old actress, who recently divorced, said she was afraid of this new ordeal.

"My fear is undeniable": it is with these words that Shannen Doherty announced Tuesday, June 7, on her Instagram account, that her cancer had worsened. The unforgettable interpreter of Brenda Walsh in Beverly Hills 90210 and Prue in Charmed has been fighting for three years against her breast cancer. She recently learned that the disease had spread to her brain. The 52-year-old actress shared a video of herself undergoing radiation therapy to break the sad news.

"Metastasis in my brain"

"On January 5, my CT scan revealed metastases in my brain. Yesterday's video showed the process of adjusting the mask you wear during your brain radiation. On January 12, the first round of radiation took place," she wrote in the caption of this video where she appears lying down, her eyes misted with tears. "I'm extremely claustrophobic, and there's a lot going on in my personal life," she also commented under the video. An allusion to her recent divorce from her third husband, photographer Kurt Iswarienko, after eleven years of marriage.

Shannen Doherty announced her cancer recurrence in February 2020

"I am fortunate to have great doctors like Dr. Amin Mirahdi and the amazing technicians from [Cedars-Sinai] by my side. But this fear... This upheaval... The timing of all this... This is what cancer can look like," Doherty said. The American star learned that she was suffering from breast cancer in 2015 thanks to her dog Bowie, who constantly sniffed her chest, pushing her to undergo medical examinations. In May 2016, Shannen Doherty underwent a mastectomy. A year later, in 2017, the actress announced her remission. But, in February 2020, his cancer was back, in stage 4.
