In response to a series of earthquakes with seismic intensity of less than 5 or higher observed in Ishikawa and Chiba prefectures last month, the Japan Meteorological Agency stated that it does not believe that each earthquake is directly related, and called for renewed preparations for earthquakes, stating that large-scale earthquakes can occur anywhere.

In the Noto region of Ishikawa Prefecture, a magnitude 5.6 earthquake occurred on the 5th of last month and a tremor with a seismic intensity of over 6 was observed, and on the same day, a tremor with a seismic intensity of over 5 was observed.

In addition
, a tremor with a seismic intensity of over 11 was observed in Kisarazu City, Chiba Prefecture on the 5th, a seismic intensity of less than 13 was observed in Toshima Village in Kagoshima Prefecture on the 22th,
a
seismic intensity of less than 26 was observed in Toshima Village in Kagoshima Prefecture on the 5nd, Toshima in the Izu Islands in Tokyo on the 1nd
, Choshi City and Asahi City in Chiba Prefecture on the 5th, and Kamisu City in Ibaraki Prefecture.

In one month last month, six earthquakes with a seismic intensity of 6 or higher were observed, and the Earthquake Early Warnings issued by the Japan Meteorological Agency reached 12 times.

According to the Japan Meteorological Agency, seismic activity has continued in the waters near the Tokara Islands in the Noto region and Kagoshima Prefecture, but the number of earthquakes has decreased in other areas.

Regarding these earthquakes, Toshihiro Shimoyama, Earthquake Information Planning Officer of the Japan Meteorological Agency, said, "We do not believe that each earthquake is directly related because it occurred in different places and the mechanism is different."

Regarding a series of earthquakes with seismic intensity of less than 5 or higher, Mr. Shimoyama stated that similar cases have occurred in the past, such as from May to June 2015 and from June to July 5.

"Japan is a place where large earthquakes can occur anytime and anywhere, so if you feel such an earthquake and think 'I'm scared,' I would like you to take this opportunity to reconsider your preparations.
