The Metropolitan Police Department arrested former member of the House of Councillors Garcy, who returned from the UAE = United Arab Emirates, on suspicion of violating the Punishment Law for Violent Acts and Other Acts on the 4th, after repeatedly threatening celebrities on video posting sites.
The Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department will conduct a full-scale investigation of the former lawmaker and investigate in detail the circumstances that led to the video distribution.
Among those arrested is Garcy, a former member of the House of Councillors, whose real name is Yoshikazu Higashitani, 51.
According to the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department, the former lawmaker is suspected of habitual threats in violation of the Violent Acts Punishment Law for repeatedly threatening three celebrities and businessmen from February to August last year by making comments on video posting sites, such as "There are a lot of bombs, and I think the story I will expose tomorrow will be a big shock."
He also told one of the businessmen, "You're doing something pretty diabolical, please withdraw. If you continue, I will expose what you have done," and there are also allegations of threatening and interfering with work.
The Metropolitan Police Department has not confirmed the former lawmaker's admission.
The former lawmaker is believed to have stayed in the UAE = United Arab Emirates even after his passport expired in April, and late last month, the Metropolitan Police Department and others dispatched investigators to the site and asked the local authorities to transfer the former lawmaker.
According to those involved in the investigation, the local authorities informed the Japan side on the 2th that they would return the former congressman to Japan, and he was arrested by the Metropolitan Police Department when he returned to Narita Airport by plane.
