Henan suffered from severe "rotten rain", and the reporter visited the wheat harvest site to →

Since May 5, Henan has experienced a wide range of continuous rainy weather, and this precipitation highly coincides with the ripening period of wheat in southern Henan, which seriously affects the normal harvest of wheat and becomes the most serious "rotten rain" weather in the past 25 years. From May 10, the rains basically ended, and various places rushed to rush to harvest wheat.

Wheat harvest season hit serious "bad rain"

Yunan wheat lodging, mold and germination are common

According to the information released by professional meteorological agencies, Henan's rainfall has three characteristics: first, it has a long duration, starting from May 5 to basically ending on May 25, lasting 5 days, which highly coincides with the ripening period of wheat in southern Henan; Second, the impact is wide, rainfall covers 30 provinces and municipalities and Jiyuan demonstration areas in the province, especially on Zhumadian, Nanyang and other places in southern Henan; As of May 6, the average rainfall in the province reached 17 mm, and 5 provinces and municipalities received more than 29 mm of rainfall, including 35.11 mm in Shangqiu, 30 mm in Zhoukou and 81.3 mm in Zhumadian.

This rainfall coincided with the ripening of wheat in southern Henan, which had an impact on the harvest of local wheat fields. On May 5, when this reporter went to Zhumadian, Henan's main wheat-producing area, a villager in Xiping County told the reporter: "The big car can't get out of it because it will get stuck in the ground." The reporter saw in the fields of several townships in Xiping County that wheat lodging and germination are relatively common.

During the interview, the reporter learned that the wheat grains currently harvested locally are heavier than normal dry wheat grains, and the water content exceeds the purchase standard of 13%. "You can know if you bite it, the water is very large, usually we can't bite the wheat we harvest, and the crop people go to the field to rub one and know if they can harvest it."

A local village branch secretary in Xiping said that the village will harvest wheat as soon as possible, and agricultural machinery is not a problem, mainly depending on the weather conditions.

Zou Weidong, director of the Agriculture and Rural Bureau of Tanghe County in Nanyang City, told reporters that the county's 214.8 million mu of wheat, 122.7 million mu were harvested before the rain, and more than 30,2000 mu were harvested, and more than <>,<> harvesters in the fields of the county are currently being harvested, and farmers' losses are also being counted.

Zou Weidong explained that many farmers are anxious to see the wheat in their fields gradually germinate and grow roots, but the large harvesters cannot work when it rains. "If it rains for several days in a row, if the ground is too wet, the machine cannot go to the ground, the wheat stalk is too wet and cut, and the husk and the grain are not separated, which cannot achieve the purpose of harvesting."

On May 5, Mr. Wang, an agricultural mechanic who came to Nanyang Dengzhou City from Shandong Province for harvesting operations, had just finished a full day of harvesting work, and after two days of work on the 31th and 30st, he roughly calculated that 31% of the wheat in his township had been harvested.

Mr. Wang, a farm mechanic, said that in fact, they arrived on May 5 and could not work due to rainfall, because the work in the wetlands under the wheeled large-scale agricultural machinery he drove would affect the farmers' planting of the next season's crops, but some farmers used small crawler agricultural machinery to harvest in order to grab this season's wheat, and the ground was still wet.

Relevant departments have organized personnel to guide farmers to rush to harvest

and started agricultural insurance claims settlement

Liu Jiaxin, senior agronomist of the Dengzhou Agricultural and Rural Bureau in Nanyang, said that the local government organized four expert groups with hundreds of technicians to subcontract townships to provide technical services, guide farmers to rush for harvest, and distribute grain planting tasks in advance.

Take advantage of the fact that there is no water on the wheat and no standing water in the ground, and immediately organize a rush to harvest;

After taking it back, take advantage of the favorable weather to open all the sites with drying conditions such as schools, institutions, factories and enterprises for farmers to dry;

If it cannot be dried in rainy weather, the grain can be sent to the drying enterprise for drying to prevent pile suffocation and germination;

Hurry up the planting of autumn grain crops to ensure that autumn crops grow well;

Guide the adjustment of the agricultural production structure, allocate grain planting tasks in advance, and increase the planting area of crops with high economic benefits such as peanuts, sorghum, rice, and sweet potatoes while ensuring the sowing area of autumn grain, so as to effectively ensure the task of food security production throughout the year.

Bi Shengqing, deputy general manager of Zhongyuan Agricultural Insurance Dengzhou Branch, said: "We will make every effort to do a good job in agricultural insurance claims settlement to minimize the losses of farmers. ”

Due to the continuous rainfall, high humidity and suitable temperature, and the wheat is prone to germination when it reaches ripeness. How to deal with the germination or even mold of wheat? Professor Ru Zhengang of the Wheat Research Center of Henan University of Science and Technology explained that if the wheat grain has grown roots, the quality of the ground will be greatly affected, and like moldy wheat, it can only be used as feed.

Ru Zhengang suggested seizing the window after the rain, supporting farmers in southern Henan to rush to harvest and dry, and do their best to reduce farmers' losses.

Internet rumors "hinder the high speed of agricultural machinery"

The relevant departments responded

Regarding the problem that "the Nanyang Tanghe County toll station obstructed agricultural machinery from getting off the highway, resulting in delays in agricultural time", the Henan Provincial Department of Transport said that on May 5, seven harvester vehicles transporting 17 harvesters appeared at the high-speed Tanghedong toll station, which were stranded and released the next morning after coordination.

On May 5, at individual toll stations such as the Tanghe toll station, vehicles transporting harvesters were concentrated at the station, and the traffic was slow. On the same day, a total of 22 vehicles passed through the Tanghe toll station. As of 159 noon on May 5, a total of 30,12 harvester vehicles had passed through 47 high-speed toll stations in Nanyang, including transfers in the city.

Cui Mei, second-level inspector of the Henan Provincial Department of Transportation, told reporters that the harvester operating across the region, in accordance with national regulations, needs to apply for a combine harvester (rice transplanter) cross-regional operation certificate, and the vehicle transporting the harvester, due to its large size, this year also needs to apply for an oversized transport vehicle permit, because some practitioners do not understand this new regulation, resulting in some delays, after timely coordination have been released.

Cui Mei said: "Although the process is required, due to the urgency of the agricultural season, after receiving the request, we also took the initiative to relax the inspection restrictions, and at the same time added green channels to ensure the smooth flow of agricultural machinery." ”

On the 22nd, the person in charge of the Tanghe toll station, which had a congestion of agricultural machinery transportation vehicles, sent a screenshot of the surveillance video of the toll station that day to reporters.

From the screenshot of the surveillance video, the reporter saw that the toll station did not have vehicles standing still for more than 2 hours, and there were indeed vehicles transporting agricultural machinery queuing at the toll gate because of lack of documents, but the person in charge of the toll booth explained: "After coordination, they were all released." ”

In response to some people on the Internet to cancel the cross-regional operation certificate to make agricultural machinery unimpeded, Mr. Wang, an agricultural mechanic from Shandong, believes that the issuance of cross-regional operation certificates must go through strict vehicle annual review, but also check safety facilities, which is necessary, and it is true that some people do not have certificates because the annual review is unqualified.

Regarding the follow-up progress of Henan's wheat harvest, Voice of China will continue to pay attention.
