A transphobic insult has led to an altercation with two injured people in Berlin-Kreuzberg. As the police announced, the state security responsible for politically motivated crimes is investigating the background.

According to initial findings, a 28-year-old trans woman was transphobically insulted by a passer-by on Tuesday, police said. Her companion confronted the attacker, who reacted with a punch. The 27-year-old then resisted and the trans woman came to his aid. In the course of the altercation, the 28-year-old is said to have grabbed a glass bottle and hit the alleged attacker on the head.

According to police, the alleged attacker was briefly unconscious and complained of headaches. He was taken to a hospital. The 27-year-old suffered hematomas, scratches and a cut during the altercation.
