Like many French people, Zaz did not live very well the period of confinement, a particularly "anxiety-provoking" moment. Invited in the show En aparté on Canal + Tuesday, May 30, 2023, the interpreter of I want to confide in her deep malaise at the beginning of the pandemic.

"I was in a moment of excess"

"I caught covid, a bit like many people, it was a little anxiety-provoking in fact, we didn't understand much, we didn't know what was going on, we felt like we were in a Hollywood movie script, it was pretty crazy and suddenly I was not super fit with myself either," she explained to Nathalie Levy. To calm his anxieties, Zaz "smoked a lot of cigarettes" and "drank a lot of wine". The singer admits: she was in a moment of excess. When she caught Covid-19, Zaz was forced to quit smoking because she felt like she was going to "die".

Zaz became a vegetarian

"I said to myself 'Ok, I have to do something', so I fasted for 3 days and so I only drank water for three days and after that: I stopped drinking, I stopped smoking," she recalled in En aparté. The 43-year-old singer has totally changed her lifestyle. It was also at this time that she decided to become a vegetarian. "I stopped eating animals because I had been thinking for a long time 'I love animals, I don't see why I eat them,'" Zaz told Nathalie Levy, before adding that she no longer drank coffee. The singer has indeed left behind all her addictions...
