One by one, the image data was transmitted from the primary health center to the remote imaging diagnosis center, and in front of the computer screen, Chen Hui and his team members were sitting and reading films, diagnosing the grassroots patients, which is the daily work of the "chasers of light".

Chen Hui is the director of the radiology department of Xiangyang Central Hospital North Campus, and has been engaged in radiology for more than 20 years, specializing in imaging diagnosis of central nervous system, breast, abdominal-pelvic diseases. In 2013, Xiangyang Central Hospital merged with the former Xiangyang Railway Central Hospital, and the hospital selected an expert team to station in the North Campus, and Chen Hui was one of them.

At that time, there were only a dozen people in the entire department, and talents with high education and high professional titles were even scarcer. The foundation of the North Campus is weak and it is difficult to carry out work. Chen Hui insisted on reading difficult cases in the department every day, and under his leadership, the reading level of the imaging department of the North Campus was significantly improved. In 2016, his team won the first prize in the first National Radiology Salon Reading Competition.

In the past, primary medical institutions would manually send patients' image data to the hospital, but this method was very inefficient. In 2020, under the promotion of Chen Hui, the remote imaging diagnosis center of Xiangyang Central Hospital was established, which can provide diagnosis and consultation services for grassroots hospitals remotely.

"Although remote diagnosis is possible, the most important thing is to teach people to fish." Chen Hui said that the most important thing to help grassroots medical institutions is to cultivate imaging talents. Since 2021, Xiangyang Central Hospital has signed a cooperation agreement with primary medical institutions, and every year the radiology and imaging department of the North Campus will visit grassroots medical institutions from time to time to hold special academic lectures, provide technical guidance, and assist grassroots hospitals in solving difficult problems in their work.

Up to now, the Remote Imaging Diagnosis Center of Xiangyang Central Hospital has signed cooperation agreements with more than 30 primary medical institutions to provide imaging hosting, remote diagnosis and consultation teaching services for primary medical institutions, and has completed reports of more than 84000,<> cases for primary hospitals.

With his outstanding contributions in imaging work, Chen Hui has obtained a number of national patents and scientific research achievements. In 2022, he won the "Top Ten Innovation Award" in the <>th Employee Entrepreneurship and Innovation Competition of Hubei Province "Workers' Cup". Nowadays, with the continuous development of imaging technology, Chen Hui and his team also pay more attention to the use of imaging artificial intelligence. "Artificial intelligence is the trend of the times, and this is where we are going in the future." Chen Hui said. (End)
