Located in the south of Anhui Province, Huangshan is a World Cultural and Natural Heritage, a Global Geopark, and a World Biosphere Reserve. Yingke Pine is located near the Yuping Tower in the Huangshan Scenic Area, with a lifespan of more than 1,000 years, and its branches stick out on one side, like a person extending an arm to welcome visitors, hence the name "Yingke Pine".

The Welcome Pine is not only a symbol of Huangshan, but also a Chinese cultural business card.

Wu Yijun, a senior engineer of the Garden Bureau of the Huangshan Scenic Area Management Committee who has long been engaged in the protection and research of ancient and famous trees, said that Yingke pine is a reputation, it is essentially a gymnosperm pine of the Huangshan pine species, and flowering at this time is a normal phenomenon of the growth and development of this plant.

"Welcoming guests loosely blooms is one of the manifestations of its vigorous vitality." Wu Yijun introduced that Huangshan pine is dioecious and the flowers are divided into female and male flowers. The male flowers are clustered, like a slender small stick, located at the base of the new shoot, the newborn male flowers are reddish-yellow, gradually turning golden yellow and finally yellowish brown as the flowering period progresses; The female flowers are as slender as fingers, appear a little later, born near the tip of new branches, and after pollination, the female flowers are crystal pink and gradually enlarge into ovate cones, which grow in about two years, and the cones change from green to brown, becoming known as pine towers.

It is reported that since the 20s of the 80th century, the Huangshan Scenic Area has carried out special care for Yingke Pine, and has full-time guards to protect the health of Yingke Pine around the clock. (End)
