"It's maybe a rhythm, a kind of groove and a kind of melancholy that we're trying to bring into this. At least for us, that feeling is very Swedish," says composer Ludwig Göransson.

Ludwig Göransson has made a success in Hollywood and has been awarded an Oscar for the soundtrack to Black Panther. Now he is setting Swedish history to music together with Per Gunnar Juliusson. The result is a theme song inspired by Polish that has just been recorded in Berwaldhallen.

"Folk music is usually played on a few violins and that takes on a character in itself. But now we have access to the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra, so we want to maximize a bit as well," says Per Gunnar Juliusson.

In the series, interviews with experts and reconstructions are tied together by actor Simon J. Berger.
