• Papel Mediaset puts an end to Sálvame and delivers the afternoons of Telecinco to Ana Rosa Quintana

Among all the news that have been published in recent weeks after the confirmation of the end of Sálvame, one of the worst was the possibility that its production company, La Fábrica de la Tele, had to open an Employment Regulation File (ERE) for workers. Finally, the news has been confirmed.

As 20minutos has advanced and confirmed by this newspaper, La Fábrica de la Tele has informed the Works Council, recently created in the production company, that it will carry out an ERE. "It is a formal procedure that begins and has legal deadlines," they say from the producer.

The workers who will be part of the ERE are those linked to Sálvame, Focus and Viernes Deluxe. Precisely, the three programs that in less than a month will disappear from the Mediaset grid.

La Fábrica de la Tele has communicated the collective dismissal to the works council regretting "sincerely having to adopt the decision" and thanking its workers "the high degree of commitment to their work".

The communication, as EL MUNDO has learned, was made this morning. Those responsible for La Fábrica de la Tele gathered the workers' representatives and communicated the decision, something that, according to sources close to them, was "expected".

"It is true that we expected it and we are already prepared to assume whatever comes," these sources say. "Another thing is how many people it will affect. That will depend on how everything is going to be developed and on future projects that can relocate a good part of the staff, "they conclude.

After the confirmation of the collective dismissal, La Fábrica de la Tele wanted to send a message of hope stating that "in parallel" to all this process already begun, "La Fábrica de la Tele works together with Mediaset in future projects". Projects that could decrease the number of layoffs.

Since Mediaset announced the definitive cancellation of Sálvame -its last program will be on June 23-, the most worrying thing was what was going to happen to the workers of the production company. Sálvame is the flagship of La Fábrica de Tele and the one that monopolizes the most hours of emission of the producer.

To the blow that meant the closure of Save me and the Deluxe, has been added in the last hours a new cancellation for La Fábrica de la Tele, Focus, the program of Cuatro. In the case of this program, the end will come at the end of the season. In fact, the reason for ending Focus is none other than low audience data.

The research program began with very good data for the second Mediaset chain, but delivery after delivery has been losing more and more audience with an average of 4.1% of screen share.

From now on, and according to the legal procedures for the Employment Regulation Files, the committee of La Fábrica de la Tele has one week from today, the day of the communication, to appoint a negotiating commission made up of up to 13 members.

Once the commission is constituted, the period is one month to negotiate the conditions of the ERE. That is, the terms, compensation, numbers of dismissals, etc. At the same time, La Fábrica de la Tele, 33% owned by Mediaset, will continue negotiations with the group in search of new projects that can stop the bleeding of layoffs.
