Drive into the inferno. What prevents the man at the wheel from turning around and reversing at this very point, only he himself knows.

Driver:

"I have to go on. I can't see anything anymore."

The driver is a professional video producer and captures these images with his dashcam in the Hammonds Plains near Halifax in Nova Scotia, the far southeast of Canada. Later, he will upload them to social media.

Driver:

"Now drive, drive, drive!"

The man doesn't seem to be very worried about his drive through the middle of the forest fire area – not even when there is almost an accident with a car in front.

Driver:

"We can do it, don't worry. If you're driving, I can drive too. It's all good, it's all good."

The forest fires in the area are out of control, ten houses have been destroyed so far. Authorities have ordered around 20,000 people to evacuate. Whether the driver is also affected by the order is unknown. On the video you can see how he makes it out of the fire after a good one and a half adventurous minutes.

This video shows the plume of smoke from the nearby port city of Halifax, which has a population of more than 400,000 with all the outskirts, making it the largest city and capital of the province of Nova Scotia. The authorities have now declared a state of emergency
