A man from Saxony crashed on a climbing rock in Franconian Switzerland and sustained moderate injuries. As the police announced on Sunday, the accident occurred on Saturday afternoon at the Hoher Stein near Reckendorf (Bamberg district).

Eight meters into the depths

It had come to a stone break and the man fell eight meters into the depth, according to the police. During his fall, the 62-year-old from Dresden crashed twice against the rock face.

About a meter above the ground, a friend, who secured the climber with a rope, intercepted the fall. Although he was wearing a helmet, the 62-year-old suffered a laceration to his head, according to police. He also complained of pain in his spine. The mountain rescue service took the man out of the hard-to-reach terrain and the rescue service took him to a hospital.
