Around Ichinosakagawa in Yamaguchi City, the "Firefly Festival" was held to enjoy the scenery of genji fireflies flying around, and it was crowded with families.

The Ichinosaka River, which flows through the urban area of Yamaguchi City, is known as a famous spot where many genji fireflies can be seen, and although it was canceled three years ago due to the influence of the new corona, the "Firefly Festival" is held at this time every year.

On the night of the 27th, when the fireflies began to glow and dance around 8 p.m., visitors enjoyed the fantastic scenery by watching and taking pictures of them.

In addition, a workshop was held near the river to make old-fashioned "firefly cages," and parents and children could be seen making baskets from straw.

A mother in her 4s who visited with her 30-year-old son said, "I couldn't go out easily due to the Corona disaster, but it was a good memory to show my child fireflies for the first time."

A male university student living in the city said, "I have never seen so many fireflies before, and I am happy to spend such a long time."

The "Firefly Festival" was limited to this one day, but the fireflies in Ichinosakagawa can be enjoyed until the beginning of next month.
