Beijing, 5 May (ZXS) -- A dialogue activity between famous cultural teachers from both sides of the strait with the theme of "Han and Tang Dynasty Relics and Dancing Chinese Style" was held at the Lao She Theater in Beijing on 27 May. Experts from both sides of the Taiwan Strait started from the perspective of Chinese classical music and dance, and studied the contemporary reconstruction of Nanyin ancient music and Liyuan dance through dialogue, exchange and music and dance display.

The event was sponsored by the Beijing Municipal Federation of Literature and Culture and the Beijing Municipal Taiwan Affairs Office. During the speech session, Chen Ning, executive vice chairman of the Beijing Municipal Federation of Literature and Literature, pointed out that the two sides of the strait have the same roots, the same origin, the same language, and the same species, and Chinese culture is the common spiritual root and belonging of both sides of the strait. Huo Guangfeng, director of the Beijing Municipal Taiwan Affairs Office, also said that both sides of the strait are nurtured and nourished by Chinese culture, share common cultural genes and values, and hope that people in the art circles on both sides of the strait will work together to make Chinese culture bloom more brilliantly.

During the dialogue session, experts from both sides of the strait discussed the inheritance and promotion of Nanyin. Nanyin is the traditional music of southern Fujian, one of the oldest surviving music genres in China, and was inscribed on the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in 2009.

"Nanyin is by far the oldest music that can be found on the land of China." Tian Qing, librarian of the Central Museum of Culture and History, honorary director and researcher of the Music Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Arts, said. Recalling going to Taiwan for exchanges twenty or thirty years ago, he felt that the local area retains the original traditional Chinese culture, but today's cultural atmosphere is difficult to compare with the past. Tian Qing believes that "intangible cultural heritage like Nanyin is the common heritage left by the common ancestors on both sides of the strait, and it needs to be jointly inherited by both sides of the strait." ”

"People from cultural circles on both sides of the strait should stand closer together, intensify efforts to carry forward Chinese culture, and pass on the magnanimity and courage of national culture to the next generation." Chen Mei'e, a famous Nanyin artist in Taiwan and artistic director of "Hantang Lefu", said in an interview with China News Agency and other media.

Chen Mei'e founded the "Han and Tang Le Fu" Music and Dance Troupe in Taiwan in 1983, based on Nanyin ancient music and Liyuan dance, injecting modern theater elements into the existing traditional framework, and launching music and dance such as "Yan Ge Xing", "Luoshenfu" and "Han Xizai Night Banquet" based on Chinese culture, and performed all over the world.

Observing that the Taiwan authorities have been manipulating "de-Chinaization" in recent years, Chen Mei'e is worried, but not pessimistic. She believes that "as long as it is artificial, there is room for redemption", and in the process, cross-strait cultural exchanges have great potential. She hopes that creators on both sides of the strait will stick to the original intention of creation, grasp the scale of innovation and inheritance, attract more people to take the initiative to get close to traditional culture, and then become inheritors and promoters.
